Instant human: just add coffee!
A few months ago, I took pride in the fact that I was pretty much devoid of vices. I don't smoke, I don't drink on a "regular" basis, I didn't drink coffee other than to be social. And while I may have an attachment to chocolate, I consider that to be absolutely normal.
But then Vixen and I started spending a lot of time at French Press Coffee--a coffee shop that is a block from my apartment. I was intrigued by the iced lattes she was always drinking, and ordered one for myself.
I am now addicted. It's not pretty folks. I've started to realize that I get nice little caffeine headaches when it reaches 2pm and I have yet to have my daily dose of caffeine.
I've been spending a lot of my time (and lot of my cash) at this fine establishment. Vixen and I have joked with the guy who works there more than anyone else that we should just bring sleeping bags and move in. I've contemplated having my mail forwarded there.
Coffee guy is cute. When he sees me saunter up to the counter, he smiles and automatically starts preparing my beverage of choice. Lately we've been engaging in more than the standard conversations (since he already knows my order). It turns out that he's from NC too.
Anyhow, I'm intrigued. I like seeing his smile as he hands me my crack in a cup.
Tonight I stopped in on my way home from class. I was just going to get a regular coffee, but coffee guy automatically started making me my latte. I didn't have the heart to tell him that I had ordered a regular coffee. He laughed at me and commented on my red, wind-blown cheeks and my predilection for iced beverages.
He does make a damn good latte, but it's not the only thing that I keep going back for.
