Neglect

I apologize for not updating this blog for a while. Vixen has been on my case.

The blog isn't the only thing that I've been neglecting as of late. I feel as if I'm not really on top of anything these days. It's a perplexing feeling for it to seem like I'm always doing work but never seem to get anything accomplished.

Anyhow, here's the update:

Last Thursday: I was dismayed by the fact that the chocolate heart I gave Coffee Guy was sitting on the cash register, uneaten. After Vixen and I sparked debate in our MIT class, I met CK for a drink at Harry's. She married me off to the fictitious Mr. Kisselshit. Don't ask. :-)

Friday: The chocolate heart was still on the register. A different guy was working and somewhere between the times I came in and left, he ate it! My chocolate heart fell into the wrong hands. Tragedy! I stayed in to eat bad food and watch TV.

Saturday: I was having an ugly day. I spent over an hour trying on clothes before I went out with the ladies to The Liquor Store for drinks and dancing. It was ungodly hot inside the club and bitterly cold (think 4 degrees) outside the club. Tons of fun.

Sunday: I hid inside and read.

In other news, I haven't had caffeine in 6 days. I'm not sure how long I'm going to go without it, but for now I'm hanging in there. Vixen and I have traded vices: I've been snacking like crazy (as opposed to eating well-balanced meals) and she's been watching a lot of TV. I've been doing better the past couple of days though--I'm trying to shed a few extra pounds before I leave for the Czech Republic. It's funny because I've had so much luck with the South Beach diet over the past year, and this semester I have another student who wants to write a paper about the dangers of diets like SB. It puts me in a precarious position. I don't really feel like coming out and saying, well actually, it works really well...and I'm much happier and healthier when I actually stick to the plan. Sigh.

Speaking of the Czech Republic though, I was a bit worried about Enigma when I heard from our other friend, Inquisitor, that Enigma had yet to ask for time off from work and has been notoriously bad about entertaining guests over there. But I spoke with Enigma and he seemed to be on top of things. He wants me to come up with a list of things I'd like to see in Prague and Budapest. Thanks for the museum suggestion; does anyone have anything to add?

That's the end of the post for now--I have a ton of papers to grade. Much love!

You failed to mention how you inappropriately startled a young gentleman on the street corner.

Oh yes, I almost forgot about that! Haha.

Well, after Vixen and I were leaving our MIT class, I was venting about how much I hate that class and how grossly passive everyone is in it. I had dropped some narrative theory on them ala Mieke Bal and while we were discussing it on the walk to the T, I exclaimed "Mieke Bal, uugghh!" as I jabbed my fist in the air...simultaneously, I almost collided with a gentleman. The last thing he heard me say was "ball" and I grunted and jabbed my fist. I couldn't bare to look him in the eye and kept walking. Good times. Good times.

Hahahaaa...that's awsome. :) As for places to see: eat in the old town square in Prague (I am sure you will). It's the most lovely place EVER. :)
