I'm sorry for being out of touch the past few days after my posting fury.
I've really been making a concerted effort to be on my A game this week. As Vixen said tonight, we're on the academic treadmill right now, and we won't be able to get off until the end of May. So I've been doing my best impersonation of someone who tackles things head-on instead of procrastinating.
To make matters worse, I have the whole job thing hanging over my head. I'm really excited about the idea of being finished with grad school, but it's a bit terrifying at the same time.
My dreams have been very vivid this week and a bit odd...hmm, I wonder why. :-P
But there have been a few highlights. I've had two lovely outings with CK - one for brunch at Devlin's on Sunday and one last night at Sunset Grill for dinner and drinks. For those in the area, I definitely recommend the omelets at Devlin's!
I've been spending a lot of time at FP this week (like I do) and have had many encounters with coffee guy. It's hard not to keep crushing...especially since he's been going above and beyond treating me like a "regular" customer.
In other news, Vixen and I had another horrible class at MIT tonight. I have to make a concerted effort not to have a physical or verbal outburst in that class. One of our classmates busted us as we walked down the streets of Cambridge ranting and raving (very loudly) about our class. I saw her walking towards her car and startled said, "Oh..." She called us on the fact that we were yelling about class, chuckled and got in her car. I am convinced that everyone in that class must think we're b-i-t-c-h-e-s. And not just bitches, but crazy bitches that rant about theory on the streets of Cambridge. At least this time I didn't collide with another man as I jabbed my fist in the air and exclaimed, "Uhhh."
Every time Vixen and I head out to Cambridge for our class, something bizarre happens. Aside from the whole nightmare that is the class itself (Vixen described it as an awkward first date that we have every week) something else bizarre usually happens. Today's excursion was no exception. Prior to class we stopped for some food at the food court right off the T stop. I noticed a few guys across the room who seemed to keep looking in our direction. I thought nothing of it, because I often get that feeling. Maybe I'm just paranoid. But this time, I was right. Vixen and I headed towards the door, and one of the guys was exiting right in front of us.
He turned and said, "I just wanted to tell you that my friend and I were just talking about you. I just wanted to say that you're really beautiful. We were talking about the fact that you should always be nice to people and do good things for them, so I just wanted to tell you that you're really beautiful. I'm Javi."
Whoa. So...that was flattering. What girl doesn't want a guy to come up to her without provocation and tell her that she's beautiful? After having a really shitty day, it was certainly a bright spot. If he had only been a handsome gentleman in something other than greasy cafeteria clothes I may have been more excited. But still, it was sweet. I guess I have to take back my comments about Boston men not being ballsy enough to actually approach girls. Javi gets props on that one.
